Akiiki Romeo Back On Music Scene
Red Pepper Vol 5 No 274, Wednesday 29 March 2006
Remember the handsome and stylish former Capital FM producer and KADS band member of the "No parking" fame. Well Akiiki Romeo last year resigned his Capital FM job to work for an international NGO. It is true he might have been off the music scene for a long time, but he is finally back. Apparently Akiiki Romeo has been working on an album which he will be launching this Saturday, 1st April at Blue Mango bar and restaurant in Bukoto. And this time round, Romeo has changed his musical style from the dancehall style to contemporary African Music. His new album is of contemporary acoustic songs composed using traditional African instruments - no computer generated tunes. The launch is being promoted by CHILLUM WOODS sounds, a UK based music promotional company which specializes in promoting contemporary music singers. Romeo's album launch will also double as the launch of the promotion company which has come to set up base here in Uganda.
